Beaches

The climate in the Netherlands is a cool climate. So the summers can be really sunny and hot (because of the high air humidity I mean HOT), but it can also rain for 5 days in a row. When the weather allows it the beaches are very crowded and going to the beach by car can be a nightmare. Most people living in the region of Rotterdam go to Hoek van Holland about 30 kilometres from Rotterdam (it is part of the Rotterdam municipality). You can easily get there by train; this will take you about half an hour. If you insist of going by car make sure you leave early in the morning before 10 am. There is a big car park near the beach this will cost you 6 euros for a day. Other beaches in the region are more near The Hague like Schevingen (famous for its boulevard) or kijkduin. The same goes for these places if you go by car go early preferably before 9 for Scheveningen. You can also go by public transport; you will have to get the train at the Rotterdam Central station and when arrived in The Hague you will have to take the tram or bus to the beach.
